What is the difference between 5x and 5xop mirrors?A
5x is a standard 5 times magnification, while 5xop is 5 times magnification with an optical mirror.
Optical mirrors are manufactured by employing a completely different technology. It is the same technology which is used in the production of camera lenses, telescopes and the glasses people wear. Starting with a piece of circular crystal, which has a uniform thickness, certain processes are applied in order to achieve a precise curve, which in turn provides the desired magnification in the reflected image. The curve is hidden from sight as it is behind the mirror's totally flat exterior surface. In this way, we guarantee that the reflect image is completely free of distortion or defects of any kind.
