This slide rail rod is made out of a chrome plated brass, while the sliding mechanism is made out of ABS plastic.

How do you adjust the height on the sliding portion?A
You would turn the knob on the sliding part to loosen the tightness, then adjust the height, and turn the knob again to tighten it back into place,
